Ajay Bulusu is a Co-Founder of NextBillion.ai, bringing deep expertise in geospatial technology and large-scale location intelligence systems. His journey began at Grab's Geo team in 2017, where he worked alongside the other co-founders to build the routing and mapping infrastructure powering one of Southeast Asia's largest super-apps. Witnessing how rigid, expensive legacy mapping solutions constrained logistics and mobility businesses, Ajay co-founded NextBillion.ai in 2020 with a mission to make enterprise-grade location technology accessible, customizable, and genuinely impactful. Under his leadership, NextBillion.ai has delivered over $11 million in cost savings to customers and optimized more than 10.9 million deliveries globally.

With a distinguished career spanning Morgan Stanley, Ola, and Grab, Gaurav has built successful products from the ground up across ride-hailing, food delivery, and logistics — giving him a practitioner's understanding of exactly where routing and navigation APIs fail real operations. At Grab's Geo team, he collaborated with Ajay and Shaolin to experience first-hand the limitations of incumbent mapping providers. That experience shaped NextBillion.ai's product philosophy: routing intelligence that works for the actual constraints of commercial fleets, not the simplified assumptions of consumer navigation. Shaolin Zheng is a Co-Founder of NextBillion.ai, contributing deep technical expertise in geospatial systems and location intelligence infrastructure. Like his co-founders, Shaolin's path to NextBillion.ai began at Grab, where the trio worked together on the Geo team and collectively identified a market-wide gap: businesses needed routing technology that was affordable, flexible, and built for their specific operational challenges — not repurposed consumer mapping. Since launching NextBillion.ai in 2020, Shaolin has been instrumental in building the technical foundation that now navigates over 557 million miles and supports logistics and mobility operations across more than 150 businesses worldwide.
Getting started requires an API key and a REST API call to the endpoint of your chosen product — Directions, Navigation, or Distance Matrix. Pass origin and destination coordinates as query parameters, specify vehicle type and any constraints (toll avoidance, truck dimensions, waypoints), and receive a JSON response with route geometry, turn-by-turn instructions, distance, and ETA.
